More Than a Band

Founded in 2011 as the Mount Hope Alumni Band, this musical ensemble originally focused on preserving their alma mater’s traditions. In 2018, they evolved into the Mount Hope Regional Band under Harmony for Hope’s umbrella, expanding their mission to celebrate the entire region’s rich Appalachian musical heritage. With Homer Vass as director, their diverse repertoire embraces both traditional and contemporary influences. Now integral to Harmony for Hope’s arts initiatives, the band captivates audiences while promoting cultural preservation and community unity through their lively performances.
